Impact and Blast Effects: Theory, Analysis and Design

3 day course, 31 October - 2 November 2016, The University of Manchester

The course is designed for professional engineers, consultants, researchers and graduate students, who may involve in analysis, testing, modelling, design and the assessment of structures against impact, blast and shock loads.  It will cover basic and thoeritcal concepts, material characterisations, analytical, modelling and design methods and practical applications for structural protection against impact, blast and shock effects.

Introduction to Rotorcraft Performance, Stability & Control

The recently-established UK Vertical Lift Network (www.ukvln.net) aims to bring together the UK research community on vertical lift.  Inspired by similar events taking place outside the UK, this call is for the first training event of the UKVLN.  The event will cover most aspects of rotorcraft aerodynamics and aeromechanics and is suited for early stage researchers at MSc or PhD level.  The event spans 2 days and includes lectures, tutorials and a mini-project.
